“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” — 1 Corinthians 15:58

I am always thankful for our staff and the volunteers of LeTCC. These believers are imperfect human beings, yet saved by grace and used by God to fulfill “the work of the Lord.” They come from various denominational and cultural backgrounds, yet despite their differences, together, they serve faithfully and sacrificially for our Lord and His people. They understand the vision of this ministry to build up the Kingdom of God for His glory and the joy of His people.

Today, I ran across this note on Facebook from a guest who visited camp this summer.

Thank you, LeTourneau, for your amazing hospitality!! It’s my second time there and both times you have gone above and beyond! Your staff is amazing! – Megan

Comments like these, from our guests, are very encouraging. They are our crowns, which we gladly give back to the Lord. Each comment from our guests is a reminder of God’s faithfulness and hand of favor on this ministry. So far this season, the Lord has worked in the lives of more than 1,000 guests as they came to LeTourneau for a fall retreat. In September, nearly 450 of our guests were youth. From their leadership, we have heard that more than a dozen first-time student guests accepted the gift of salvation or made a recommitment to follow Him. Praise the Lord!

Our guests are enjoying the renovations and new construction on the grounds, especially the new Deluxe Cabin, which was opened for use the first weekend of September. Our team works hard to give our guests the best we can offer. Bob Anderson, our project manager, and several volunteers are continuing to improve the amenities here. They have been busy finishing up some small projects this past month, before breaking ground on a new staff housing unit (granted we are approved by the town) at the end of October. We are desperate for new housing, which will allow more of our staff families to move into appropriately-sized living spaces, rather than inadequate ones they have been patiently enduring. We hope to have the new unit completed by May 2019. If you would like to help on this long-range project, please call the office!

The students of THE WAY School of Discipleship have been settling in this past month. They are attending classes weekly in Spiritual Formations, Discipleship, Church History, Biblical Studies, and Theology. They’ve also been a blessing to serve with each week in many areas of ministry here. Please keep them in your prayers as this year will be one of the most foundational ones in their lives as a follower of Christ.

At LeTourneau, Christ is Lord and He is constantly saving His children, changing lives, and glorifying Himself.  There are few ministries as blessed as this one, where we see God move so regularly and powerfully for His glory and the joy of His people. We praise Him for seeing fit to use the staff and volunteers of LeTourneau to help spread the glory of His name.

To Him be the Glory,
Jamie Fischer
