“But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me.    Micah 7:7

Christmas Greeting to Each of You,

I don’t know about you but this time of year always seems to sneak up on me and then crunches the days that are left before the 25thinto a crazy rush of shopping and baking! This year is no exception when I realized Christmas is only days away!  If you live around us, winter has been here already for a good month.  We missed the promised Indian summer and went right to snow and cold! I guess I just have gotten used to it and forgot the winter wonderlands usually bring us Christmastime!   I do love all the festivities of concerts, parties, my time with my kids and grand boys and the opportunity to be a part of the Christmas celebrations at our church.  I am thankful for this time of year that reminds me why I can hope in the Lord and wait for my Savior, as the verse tells about at the top of this letter.   All because He loved us so much that He sent his only begotten son to live a holy life to demonstrate God’s love for us and then to die on a cross to bear all of our sins so we can have the blessed hope of eternity with Him.   What an amazing Father we have, when our hope is in Him!

I must back up a bit and share with you all what an amazing fall we had at LeTourneau Christian Center! The Housekeeping Department, where I spent the majority of my time, was kept busy, busy, busy as our guest schedule was pretty much non-stop until the end of October.  Families, teens, pastors, missionaries…coming to rest, enjoy the beauty, activities and most importantly, to hear from God.   It never ceases to bless me to see people enjoying their time at LeTCC.  Whether they are enjoying outside activities or inside sewing and quilting for hours, their faces share the joy of their time with us.  God has been so faithful in providing the needs for our guest. Whether it be staff or volunteers to keep the grounds cared for, including snow removal this fall, the kitchen and dining hall staff that prepares and serves endless nutritious and yummy food, technical help for the speakers, music and video equipment, maintenance to keep the fans and furnaces going and all of the plumbing working and the laundry workers, bed makers and cleaners of approximately 65 bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, meeting rooms, and the Rec Hall!  I cannot forget the office personnel that keep it all running smoothly.  Thank you, Lord!

Bob spent the early fall finishing up the exterior remodel of the Boy’s Staff Cabin, and the newest project of breaking ground for the new staff housing for the director’s family.  He cut down and hauled away trees and dug the basement before many delays and the cold and snow stopped the process for this winter. With a March timeframe to get going on this again, he has time to do some remodeling in the Lodge, installing new toilets, sinks and countertops and repairing walls.  Now he is up on top of the Hill renewing our Hilltop Cottage with new roof, siding, windows and other badly needed upgrades.  This brings me to my “Special Projects” supervising which, as you remember, is the more fun part of my work.   I get to pick out colors, work with some great teens and bring new life to some tired spaces.

Due to a little whiplash from a car accident I had in mid-September, I’m not quite able to do my usual speed at prep & painting.  I’ve been forced, once again, to slow it down a bit so my body can heal before I jump back on a ladder!  (However, I think my “jumping” on a ladder days are almost over! I may need to start climbing them slowly from now on.) J

Our annual Vision Banquet that was held two weeks ago, December 8th  It was a beautiful summary what God has done through the giving of His people, both financially and serving, in 2018.  When we stood back and saw all of the groups and guest that were served, the projects that were completed and the finances He provided, we were amazed!  We can only imagine what He is going to do in the year to come and we continue to seek His will as we wait for His return.

Bob and I are very blessed to be a part of the ministry at LeTCC.  His goodness to us, even through trials, continues to give us the strength to keep going as we serve Him at LeTCC and at our church, Penn Yan Bible.  We are certainly growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and are grateful the He has chosen us to be His arms and feet in the place He has put us.  We are watching in hope and waiting for our Saviors return and as the verse tells us, He will hear our prayers.

Thank you for partnering with us during 2018 and we are looking forward to the New Year ahead!  We are so grateful and blessed by your continued support, in prayer and financially, for this work that God has called us to do at Letourneau.  Our prayer continues to be that many hearts will be changed by the gospel, for the furthering of His kingdom.

May God richly bless each of you as you seek His will for each day of your lives, for His glory.  Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Gratefully Serving Our Lord,
Mary Ann & Bob Anderson
