Our Vision

Our Vision for Ministry in 2020 and Beyond!

We exist to serve the church and to build up the Kingdom of God for the Glory of God and the Joy of His People.

We delight in dreaming BIG for God and His Kingdom. We want to max out our potential and use every resource He has blessed us with to fulfill our mission. With faith we are looking to the Father for discernment, wisdom, provision, and direction.

The following are areas we hope to buildup in 2019 and beyond.

I. Host Ministry

Quality Improvements: We are improving how we serve our guests every week. We are evaluating everything we do and making improvements. Our facilities are also receiving some much appreciated improvements. (See VI. for more)

Getting the Word Out: We have also begun the process of reaching out to 800 churches in Rochester, Syracuse, Buffalo, and throughout this region, which do not currently use our ministry. These churches are between 1 and 2 hours from our facilities; perfect for a retreat.

II. Events Ministry

Expand our Children’s and Youth Ministry

Easter Egg Hunt: We hosted our first annual Easter Egg Hunt in 2017. There were 60+ kids enjoying a day at camp. Since then we have held the same event and seen the numbers grow in the following years of 2018-19. We have a great time with the kids hosting games, an Easter Egg Hunt, a candy store, face painting, food, a Gospel presentation, and more! We look forward to what God will do through this event in 2020 and beyond!

Day Camps and Youth Camp:   With the addition of our new Program Director Jason Dailey and a dedicated summer staff team, we had a great five weeks of day camps for our children in 2019! Through fundraisers like the Fall Fest 5K Run/Walk and others we are prayerfully planning and excited to holding 8 weeks of day camps in 2020, including 2 weeks of overnight camps! In the years to come it will continue to be our mission to hold Children’s Day Camp programs and summer Youth Camp for the disadvantaged youth. We will raise funds that will allow up to 200+ students to join us throughout the summer.

Expand our Family Ministry

Easter Sunrise Service: Each year we are blessed to celebrate the risen Lord through our sunrise service with worship and a message.  Afterwards, we are able to enjoy a meal together in the dining hall and spending time in fellowship together and praising our risen Lord.

Women’s Ministry: The Blessed Hope Ladies ministry continues to be a wonderful part of the LeTourneau ministry to ladies. To complement their work, if the Lord allows, we would love to bless women, and especially mothers, with a periodic night out. These ladies would have an opportunity to have some much deserved fun and be inspired by other women.

III. Conferences and Retreats: If the Lord allows, we would love to provide a Pastor/Laymen Conference, foster family conference, a marriage retreat, and youth and young adult retreats in 2019/2020.

IV. THE WAY Program:

Summer Program and School of Discipleship: Our heart is to disciple young people. In 2019 we had 13 summer staff students join us growing with the Lord and serving the groups and children’s day camps that we were blessed to host. We will continue discipling students through our summer program and our year round young adult ministry, the School of Discipleship. It is our goal to disciple these students and send them out into society better equipped to share the Gospel and build up the Kingdom.

V. Laymen Institute:

Exciting News: As THE WAY School of Discipleship has grown, so has the interest from laymen in our area who would like very much to participate in the same classes our students are taking (i.e. New Testament Survey, Old Testament Survey, Theology, Spiritual Formations, and more). In collaboration with pastors throughout the region, we are hoping to see the establishment of a laymen’s institute, in conjunction with our School of Discipleship, for the building up and training of future church leaders and perhaps even pastors and missionaries. We hope to form a counsel to develop and lead this ministry in the near future.

VI. Renovations, Recreation, and Facilities:

Moving Forward: In January of 2017, we added a new staff member, Bob Anderson, to be our Project Manager. Bob is leading our renovations and future building projects. In 2017, we were busy with numerous renovation projects including the renovation of the bedrooms in the Bethany House and 1st Floor of the Lodge. We also updated the stage, sound, and lights in the Tabernacle. A great addition to the waterfront, was a beautiful lakefront patio. In 2018, we were able to replace the roofs on many of our buildings, including the Lodge.  And then in 2019, Bob lead a group of dedicated volunteers to the completion of the new staff house that was finished in October of 2019! Lord willing, we will be adding new recreation options as well and beginning the process of raising funds for a new multipurpose facility to better serve our guests and fulfill our mission.
